Senior Men Shot Down By Lasers
Result Warriors 45 Sandwell Scorpions 54
A last quarter collapse doomed our Senior Men to defeat in their first home game of the Season at BRJ on Thursday. For three quarters of this low scoring affair both sides were unable to put away the numerous chances they both created under the basket, and the majority of the scoring was restricted to long range efforts.
The first quarter saw the teams very evenly matched and the scores were tied at 12 all at the buzzer.
The second period saw the defences still in control but we had pulled away to lead 25 to 21 at the half.

A 7 to 10 score line in the third summed up who much both teams were struggling offensively and with just 10 minutes to go there was everything to play for.
Things finally came to life at the start of the fourth quarter with six three-pointers being knocked down in the first four minutes. Unfortunately only two of those were ours and the next two minutes saw the Lasers hit three more to stretch to a 9-point advantage. We were never able to close that gap until the final hooter sounded.

Our scorers on the night were Simon Hoar (15), Ashley Cookson (9), Richard Onions (7), Luke Grant (6), Carsten Dieterich (3), and Josh Crutchley (2).
